Wide Nasal Bridge

A wide nasal bridge refers to a broader than average width of the upper part of the nose, typically between the eyes, caused due to excess width or thickness of the nasal bones The condition is commonly noticed in non-European noses with a low nasal dorsum.

A nasal bridge may appear wider following the removal of a nasal hump in rhinoplasty. This could lead to what is known as an “open roof deformity” which can be avoided by properly narrowing the bones post-hump removal.

An osteotomy can help reduce this width, allowing the nasal bones to be repositioned inward.
