Sialadenitis

Salivary glands can become enlarged repeatedly due to some obstruction in the salivary duct system caused by stone or stricture (narrowing of the duct). This may be detected using an ultrasound scan or CT scan and Sialendoscopy is often undertaken to help treat chronic sialenditis. Sialendoscopy is a minimally invasive and non-traumatic surgical technique that involves the insertion of a miniature telescopic tube up the duct for both diagnosis and treatment of related conditions.
