Over-Projected & Under-Projected Nose

An over-projected or under-projected nose refers to deviations from the ideal projection or forward extension of the nose relative to the face. An over-projected nose protrudes too far forward, often creating a prominent or bulbous appearance that may disrupt facial harmony. Conversely, an under-projected nose lacks adequate forward projection, appearing flat or recessed on the face, which can also affect facial balance and aesthetics. Careful consideration of individual facial proportions and desired aesthetic outcomes is crucial in determine the most appropriate correction method for both these types of noses.

Fix-It

Reduction Rhinoplasty helps address this issue. Alternatively, Augmentation Rhinoplasty addresses an under-projected nose by adding tissue or implants to increase the forward projection. Common methods include using cartilage grafts from the septum or ear, cadaveric grafts, or synthetic implants strategically placed to enhance nasal projection while maintaining natural contours.
