Muscle Relaxant

Muscle relaxants are commonly used to reduce wrinkles by temporarily paralysing the underlying facial muscles. By inhibiting muscle contractions, they smooth out dynamic wrinkles caused by repetitive facial expressions.

The muscle relaxant used in anti-wrinkle injections mandates that only medical professionals can administer it. Our medical professionals are qualified to administer these, to achieve targeted and natural-looking results.

Specifically, this muscle relaxant used in cosmetic treatments is a purified protein derived from a natural source, also known as a neurotoxin. A small dose of the neurotoxin is injected into the targeted area, where it blocks nerve signals to the underlying muscle. This causes the muscle to relax, thereby reducing the facial lines caused by its repetitive movement.

What it Does ...

A muscle relaxant treatment for reducing wrinkles is quick, typically under 20 minutes, and only mildly uncomfortable, often described by patients as akin to a mosquito bite.

Ice can be applied to numb the injection site. The effects of the treatment begin to show within 3-5 days and typically last for about three months.

It is advisable to undergo repeat treatments as wrinkles reappear. Regular appointments can extend the duration of results, sometimes lasting up to six months between treatments. Maintenance treatments are necessary to preserve the desired outcome.

  • Targets & smoothens “first wave” wrinkles caused by repetitive facial muscle movements, such as forehead lines, crow's feet & glabellar lines (frown lines between eyebrows)

  • Used prophylactically to prevent deepening of existing wrinkles & formation of new ones over time

  • Helps reshape & lift certain areas of face, such as eyebrows or mouth corners, for more youthful appearance

  • Safe & minimally invasive; no anaesthesia required

  • Typically involves minimal downtime
