Lateral Crural Strut Grafts
Lateral Crural Strut Grafts are small pieces of cartilage harvested typically from the septum or ear. They are shaped into thin, elongated strips or "struts" and inserted along the lateral (side) crura of the lower lateral cartilages in the nose. Over time, the grafts integrate with the surrounding tissues, providing stable support to the nasal tip. They are used in rhinoplasty to provide structural support and enhance the shape of the nasal tip, preventing its gradual collapse or distortion. Lateral crural strut grafts can better a drooping tip and its asymmetry. They can also enhance nasal airflow by maintaining the structural integrity of the nasal tip and preventing nasal valve collapse.
