General ENT Conditions
Deviated Nasal Septum
Deviated Nasal Septum is a significant shift in the nasal septum (thin wall that separates the nasal passages) which can obstruct sinus drainage and airflow, contributing to sinus infections and congestion. This condition may be present at birth or can result from an accident/injury. In many cases, it does not have any symptoms, but if it does, it presents as congested nostril, nosebleeds and noisy breathing during sleep. A surgical procedure called Septoplasty is done to correct this issue.
