Brow (Forehead) Lift

Age can settle on your brow - causing it to droop - and around your eyes much before other parts of your face are affected. Also called the forehead lift, a brow lift gives a lift at the arch of the brow, reducing sagging of the eyebrows and smoothing forehead wrinkles, resulting in a more youthful and refreshed look.

Purpose

This procedure targets wrinkles and frown lines that form between the eyebrows and across the forehead, potentially giving a perpetually tired, angry, or sad appearance.

It helps to reposition expression lines that may have shifted due to sagging skin on the forehead.

  • Enhance facial symmetry

  • Restore a more alert and vibrant expression

  • Offer long-lasting solution to enhance facial aesthetics

  • Reduce hooding

  • Erase signs of early ageing caused by combined effects of sun exposure, gravity and stress

Coronal Brow Lift (Open Brow Lift)

Coronal Brow Lift (Open Brow Lift) involves making an incision along the hairline or within the forehead creases. The forehead skin is lifted, underlying tissues adjusted, and excess skin removed before closing the incision.

  • Suitable for moderate to severe brow sagging and forehead wrinkles

b)  Endoscopic Brow Lift

Endoscopic Brow Lift is a minimally invasive technique using several small incisions within the hairline. A tiny camera (endoscope) is used to guide the surgeon in adjusting tissues and lifting the brows. It works for patients with mild to moderate brow ptosis and forehead wrinkles.

  • Less scarring

  • Shorter recovery time

c)  Temporal (Limited Incision) Brow Lift

Temporal (Limited Incision) Brow Lift involves shorter incisions placed at the temples to lift the outer portion of the eyebrows and smooth crow's feet.

  • Ideal for mild to moderate brow sagging and minimal forehead wrinkles.

The Process

Consulting with a Board-certified plastic surgeon is crucial to determine the most suitable brow lift technique based on individual anatomy, aesthetic goals, and medical history. They can provide personalised recommendations and address any concerns regarding the procedure. It would be ideal to inform your doctor about any medical conditions, such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, heart disease, or high blood pressure.

Incisions are strategically placed to minimise visible scarring, usually within the hairline or along natural forehead creases. The surgeon lifts and repositions the underlying brow tissues (including muscles and fat pads) to achieve a more youthful and elevated brow position. Excess skin is trimmed, and the incisions are closed with sutures or surgical staples. The incision hides beautifully in the hairline.

The whole procedure takes about 90 minutes and can be performed as an outpatient procedure whereby you can go home a few hours after surgery.

Initial recovery may involve swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort, typically subsiding within a few weeks. Although long lasting, results may evolve over time due to natural aging processes.

Specific instructions on activities to avoid, such as strenuous exercise and sun exposure, are provided to optimise healing and minimise complications.
